Comparing Stories

by hellojray on June 1, 2012

We are very grateful for our trip, Steve.  We’ve been comparing
stories of our trip with Baton Rouge friends who have gone to the Holy
Land with other tour groups and even Baton Rouge Diocese sponsored
trips.  They have shared stories that we’d want no part of.  They
include things like having a Jewish Tour Guide, having to wait in line
for an altar at Mt. of beatitudes for Mass, having to pay to have a
Mass at some sites to rent vestments, use candles, etc., having to
wait behind lines of busses and being the last group to get to the
stores in Bethlehem only to find out the Bethlehem stores were closing
for the day.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK  YOU!!!!!

John and I had such an extraordinary experience traveling with you to the Holy Land last year (the St. Andrew group), that we’ve reserved space on [the Footprints of St. Paul] cruise and extension to Rome.  Our plans were to take a major trip next year, but we couldn’t pass up this opportunity to join [...]

Why I Like Logos Bible Software So Much

May 29, 2012

(hint) its got the Catechism now. I have been using the Logos Bible software for years because it’s a robust program that is easy to use. I always considered it the premier Bible Software, but they had very little content for Catholics… Now in 2012 the world has changed. Logos created an entire Catholic department [...]

My Run North and South thru All Jerusalem on the Sabbath

May 12, 2012

It was a beautiful Sabbath. No traffic. Jews, Muslims, Christians all out walking. Children everywhere. I walked briskly (until my knee surgery later this month) for 9 miles from north to south. We listened to some Protestants belittling Mary and the Catholic Church there. Another guide was mocking the Via Dolorosa. We then went to [...]

Holy Land Day 4: Capernaum, to Jerusalem, Visitation

May 8, 2012

From Galilee to Jerusalem. A very rich, eventful day. Following Mary from Galilee to her relative Elizabeth, pilgrims were surprised that she walked over 90 miles. We started the day taking a boat ride across the Sea of Galilee and having Mass at Capernaum where Jesus did more miracles than anywhere else. I gave my [...]

Pilgrimages Day 5: All Day Bethlehem

May 8, 2012

All day in Bethlehem his always special for our pilgrims. This is the burial site of Rachel, wife of Jacob. It is the home of Ruth who became the great-grandmother of David who was born in Bethlehem and probably where he wrote Psalm 23. It is also prophesied about by Micah 5:2 pronouncing Bethlehem as [...]
