Update on Teresa Tomeo Pilgrimage

by Steve Ray on March 16, 2009

We are doing great and the pilgrims are all having a wonderful time. Now that Teresa has joined us it has certainly kicked it up a notch!

100_9407smToday we took a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee, had Mass at Peter’s House in Capernaum and visited the place of the multiplication of loaves and fish. We ate the same fish Jesus ate for lunch. I gave my talk on Defending the Eucharist at the Synagague where Jesus said “Eat My Flesh; Drink My Blood.”

Click on picture for larger image. It was taken inside the synagogue in Capernaum where Jesus taught about the Eucharist.

Then we drove to Jerusalem and stopped at the House of Elizabeth to pray at the place of the Visitation. I gave my talk on Mary and the Ark of the New Covenant. I also gave my conversion story along the way and Fr. Bill gave his incredible vocation story.

I am way too tired to make a video tonight and have to go to sleep. We get up at 5 AM in the morning to have Mass on the top of Calvary. The pilgrims will touch the place where the Blood of Jesus dripped on the ground after Mass. Then we will go to Bethlehem. More soon.

    Hi Steve,
I tuned into Ave Maria and listened to your talk this morning. Awesome. I wish I were there. Father Bill has spoke of your conversion story. Absolutely incredible! It gives me great strength. I hope to hear your story firsthand someday. Tell Father Bill to keep telling his incredible story and tell him he is “Amazing in God’s Love!!” On behalf of our Parish Family at OUR LADY OF LAKE HURON in Harbor Beach I Thank God for Blessing us with Father Bill Spencer. He is an awesome Shepherd. God’s Blessings to all of you on this Holy Journey. Beth

    Good Morning:
Glad to hear everyone is enjoying their trip. St. Constantine commissioned the building of The Orthodox Church of The Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem and The Orthodox Church of The Nativity in Bethlehem. These are 2 of the greatest Orthodox Churches in the world. All are welcome. Glad that you are being blessed and the faithful Orthodox in Greece were hospitable.

STEVE RAY HERE: FRANKLY, THE GREEKS ARE NEVER HOSPITABLE AND ARE USUALLY RUDE, PUSHY, GREEK-CENTRIC BULLIES. THEY MAKE LIFE DIFFICULT FOR ALL NON-GREEKS WHO VISIT THESE CHURCHES. I WATCHED A GREEK PRIEST IN FRONT OF THE HOLY SEPULCHRE CHASE A CHRISTIAN WITH A LARGE STICK WHILE YELLING AT THEM. ONE GREEK PRIEST THREATENED TO KICK OUR GROUP OUT OF THE CHURCH OF THE NATIVITY BECAUSE SOME OF THEM LAUGHED INSIDE THE CHURCH. SO MUCH FOR GREEK ORTHODOX HOSPITALITY.

THE CHURCHES WERE NOT BUILT BY THE ORTHODOX CHURCHES BUT BY THE CATHOLICS. THEY WERE BUILT THE BY CATHOLIC SAINT QUEEN HELEN — WHO WAS AND WHO IS A CATHOLIC SAINT. THE ORTHODOX CHURCHES DID NOT EXIST UNTIL THEIR BREAK WITH ROME. BEFORE THAT ALL CHURCHES WERE MEMBERS OF ONE, HOLY, CATHOLIC AND APOSTOLIC CHURCH. SOMEONE OUGHT TO COME OVER HERE, LEARN A BIT OF HUMILITY, STUDY THE FACTS AND GET THEIR INFORMATION CORRECT.

MY LOCAL GUIDE’S MOTHER IS GREEK ORTHODOX AND HIS FATHER CATHOLIC AND HE WOULD EASILY STRAIGHEN OUT THE MISINFORMATION PROVIDED BY MR. DANFORD ABOVE. WE HAVE NO ANGER AGAINST THE GREEKS, JUST FRUSTRATION WITH THEIR BAD BEHAVIOR AND ATTITUDE IN THESE CHURCHES.
