Israel Day 8: Via Dolorosa, Calvary, Mass in Aramaic, Holy Shroud Exhibit, Ceremonial Entrance into Tomb

by Steve Ray on September 19, 2018

We started the day by leaving the hotel at 5 AM in the morning to walk the Via Dolorosa in peace and quiet after which we did a tour of the Holy Sepulchre  and touched the top of Calvary where the cross once stood.

We then had Mass. Fr. Badway’s excellent final homily here.   His whole consecration in Aramaic is also on the homily video. Make sure to also hear him sing the consecration in Aramaic, the language of our Lord Jesus. Beautiful! Be sure to listen to Deacon Jim’s inspiring reflections here.

Holy Shroud Exhibit — remarkable and very moving. Lunch at Rossini’s Christian Restaurant. Free time and then…

…a Solemn Entry into the Tomb with Franciscan accompaniment.
