France 5: Saint Malo, Apparition of Mary in Pontmain

by Steve Ray on June 8, 2019

We never like to push our people too much so we gave them an easy morning and left today at 10 AM. We went to Saint Malo which is a medieval fortified city on the ocean. We toured the exquisite cathedral where the organ was playing the whole time we were there. We spent time praying and exploring.

From there we drove a little over an hour to Pontmain which is the site of an approved Marian apparition. Along the way I explained about the apparition that took place in 1871, again like many Marian apparitions, this one was to children.

We had Mass in the parish church where the children attended Mass (Fr. Dan‘s homily here) and then spent time exploring the Pontmain Basilica which was stunning And built in honor of the apparition.

Gift shops kept people busy for a while and then we had great fun driving home with jokes and humor, prayers and Fr. Dan’s vocation story. A great dinner and we are getting to bed early tonight for a relaxed departure tomorrow.
