Mass, Temple Mount, Jordan Baptismal Site, Jericho, Samaritan Parable, Bethany and more

by Steve Ray on February 3, 2014

Way too much to write about today. Rich and full day. I also did a one-hour radio show on St. John’s Gospel about the places we visit today and spoke to 20+ priest from around the world on a priestly renewal pilgrimage – so I am whipped and heading for bed!

But the day was exciting and everyone had a great time so we hope you enjoy the videos. The first is the morning and the second is the afternoon. Holy Land Part 2 is very worthwhile and we will do it again with a limit of only 25 people.

Morning of Day 7: Mass at Jerusalem’s local parish church of St. Xavier’s, the church of the Franciscans, Temple Mount above the Western Wall, drive down into the Judean Wilderness, authentic Baptismal site of Jesus on the Jordan River.

Afternoon of Day 7: Baptismal site of Jesus, lunch and tour of Jericho, visit of Elisha’s Spring, spotting a gazelle, walking along the road from Jerusalem to Jericho and reading the parable of the Good Samaritan, visit to Bethany and raised from Lazarus’ tomb, free time for visit to the Holy Sepulchre, dinner, Steve’s conversion story at the Notre Dame.

    Hi Mom and Dad,

I spent 45 minutes this evening watching videos from yesterday and today. I can’t believe you packed so much in! You must be exhausted, but every time I see you in the videos you are smiling from ear to ear.

Good to see have both risen (I saw you coming out of. Lazurus’ tomb)!

I saw you are wearing coats. Just know your are escaping the 8-10 inches of snow we are expecting tonight.

Nurse Nancy commented tonight on how cool it is that we are “along for the ride” on your pilgrimage. Indeed it is!

    Love from frozen Ohio,

    Scott, Julie, and the kids
