Too Tired to Blog

by Steve Ray on June 25, 2006

We have two days behind us since my last blog. We just returned from our indescribable dinner at Aberge Shulamit in Northern Israel. And again tonight I am too exhausted to write an extensive report.

It was HOT today– about 90° and very humid but I never heard one complaint from group — only excitement and enthusiasm. However, it saps some energy over a 14 hour day!

Yesterday we visited Mount Tabor (Mt. of Transfiguration), Cana for renewal of wedding vows, and then Nazareth for Mass. Upon our return to Pilgerhaus a lot of people went swimming in the Sea of Galilee, others explored the shoreline and others sat on the patio and admired the scenery and prayed and talked.  After dinner we used the meeting room to have a one-hour discussion on the Israeli-Palestinian political situation. Everyone thought the talk was very informative and illuminating.

Today (Sunday) we visited the Mount of Beatitudes (Sermon on the Mount), and Caesarea Philippi (Matt 16:13-19). On the way north to the Lebanese border I gave my talk on “Peter: the Rock, the Keys, and the Chair.” After an extensive tour of Caesarea Philippi, I took the pilgrims to an authentic Druze restaurant near the Syrian border in the Golan Heights.

A beautiful drive through the mountains brought us back to the Sea of Galilee where we stopped at Tabgha where Jesus multiplied the loaves and fishes. Our next stop was the Church of Primacy of Peter where I gave a 1/2 talk on John 21 where Jesus met the disciples on the shore after his resurrection. Fr. Gerald Gawronski then celebrated Mass where Jesus fed the disciples on the shore.

Then a shower and short rest before going to the incredible dinner.

Now . . . .. . . zzzzzzzzzzz.
